2 Retire In Panama?                                           NEWSLETTER

            March 15, 2021  Volume 25

This week's COVID update...

...is how I am helping to keep readers updated on how "under control" COVID-19 is in Panama.  This is the update as of March 11th from Karyn Saunders. March 11th was the first anniversary of Karyn's reports. Thank you so much Karyn for continuing to keep ex-pats aware of the statistics:

Panama has 474 new cases, +15 new deaths, 108 in ICU, 732 hospitalized, 581 newly recovered, and 6,547 active cases.

1) 5.1% positive rate on 9275 tests.

2) To date 233,365 vaccinations have been administered in Panama.

3) Nightly curfews (10pm-4am) remain in effect.

Jen and I are on the list to be vaccinated. When our number comes up, we will be contacted and informed where to report for the vaccination.

Church services at Coronado Bible Church...

...continue on Wednesday with one service at 10:30am. Protocols required by MINSA are being followed with strict adherence to number of people in attendance, social distancing, and wearing of masks. For this reason, people are asked to register in advance to attend. Click here to register for services. The worship is recorded and rebroadcast on Sunday morning via Facebook and You Tube. The plan is to resume Sunday Services on Easter. The congregation is asking for prayers to keep the weekends opened so that the Sunday services can make a return.

My special offer this week...

...is a little different. I have been struggling with making great offers here that appeal to my readers so this week I am going for Amazon's most wished for items. Click Here to reveal many things that have been on the most wished for list at great value.

This past week...

...we rescheduled our next big adventure. I alluded to it in a previous newsletter, however it had to be postponed due to beach closures and weekend curfews. We are planning to fly to Bocas Del Toro right after Easter for a few days of exploring. Our adventure buddies Ty and Lyn are joining us, and we are looking forward to a great time of exploring the islands. We are booked in cabanas on the beach with extremely limited internet. This means that the 4 of us will be going through a bit of social media detox. We will be taking a lot of pictures to share in upcoming newsletters and blog posts.

Chef Pasqual...

...celebrated the much-anticipated opening of his new restaurant on the InterAmericana highway across from the entrance of Ensenada this past week. Jen and I had a wonderful time on Friday afternoon with good friends Joe and Barb giving the new restaurant a try. The menu had few surprises and we found it remarkably similar to the menu of his former venue at Vista Mar. His web site says the prices are $$. In reality compared to other local restaurants it really was more like $$$$. Expensive, but worth the cost.

We found the intimate atmosphere to be loud and it was difficult to enjoy a conversation with our friends. On the upside the service was impeccable, while the food was delicious and perfectly prepared. The servers were bi-lingual, and the menu is offered in Spanish or English.

This week's fan photos...

...are friends Joe and Barb. It has taken a while for us to get together due to the COVID. They were gracious enough to allow me to take their pictures with my book when we got together for lunch on Friday.

I am running out of original fan photos, so if you are willing, and can share a fan photo with me it would be greatly appreciated. It will appear in an upcoming newsletter.

It would also mean a lot to me if those of you who haven't, would go to Amazon or Goodreads and leave a review. This makes my book easier to find.
