Bocas Del Toro...

...was interesting to say the least. You know how when something starts out bad it always seems to spiral downward. That is how we felt. We left Coronado at 6am last Tuesday to catch our 10am flight to Bocas. This is a journey that would normally take around 90 minutes. We had plenty of extra time for unforeseen circumstances which sometimes happen in Panama. A protest on the Bridge of the Americas which crosses the Panama Canal caused us to miss our flight. Fortunately we were able to rebook on the other flight of the day which left at 1pm. We rebooked and paid a change fee. We contacted our resort to let them know that we would not make the morning water taxi. They arranged for alternate transportation to the property which we had to pay for due to the change.

When our plane landed in Bocas Del Toro, we were amazed at the difference in culture compared to our beach community in Coronado. There was a children's baseball game being played at the end of the runway and the airport was very casual with security. They ran dogs past our bags, and we were on our way in just a few minutes. A taxi picked us up and we were transported to the dock where our boat would pick us up and transport us to our home away from home for the next 4 days.

Now, I am going to spin this adventure, and roll it out in a way that you will all appreciate. We had some amazing moments, but our accommodations were primitive, and the service left a lot to be desired. Our first afternoon on the ground the weather was beautiful, and we swam, kayaked, and settled into our cabanas. Overnight it rained and continued to rain off and on for our entire adventure.

We explored a native village the second day, an organic cacao farm the third day and on Friday we just took the boat to tour the surrounding marinas and see some of Bocas City from the water. Saturday morning, prior to our departure we explored a bit more of Bocas City on foot before being transported back to the airport. I am sharing some of our pictures. There is far too much to tell for a newsletter article so I will be publishing a Bocas Del Toro post later in the week. The photo in my header this week is from the resort's website.

Thursday April 15th...

...is Lyndi Allison's launch for her book "The Lines Between Our Stars". It is a science fiction thriller for young adults. It was released on Kindle and Amazon March 31st and I got my copy on Kindle Unlimited. I finished reading the 1st of what will be a trilogy featuring the adventures of Jas and Gloria.  While it was hardly written for my age range it is quite good, and I will be interested where the story goes from here. It would be a great gift for your late teen reader who loves science fiction. Check out the book trailer here and remember to register for Lyndi's official launch party on Zoom April 15th at 7:00PM EDT.

Coronado Bible Church...

...will continue to have in person Sunday services as we move forward in the new normal. The health protocols will be in place at the church, and everyone is asked to  register in advance for the worship services. The registration link will give times and describe the health protocols and what must be done by attendees who intend to be with us in person. Join us in person, by YouTube, or on Facebook.

Jen and I...

...got back from Bocas in time Saturday to enjoy Mexican Night. The crew at our club is managing to outdo themselves at every event. There are more great events scheduled throughout the remainder of the month and we are looking forward to what is to come.

This week's fan photo...

...is my beautiful sister. I am sharing this in honor of sibling's day which was last Saturday.

I am running out of original fan photos, so if you are willing, and can share a fan photo with me it would be greatly appreciated. It will appear in an upcoming newsletter.

It would also mean a lot to me if those of you who haven't, would go to Amazon or Goodreads and leave a review. This makes my book easier for people to find.

You can get a copy of my book by clicking the link here, or the link on the blog. It is exclusively available on Amazon or Kindle. Kindle Unlimited subscribers read it free.

Blessings from paradise,
