2 Retire In Panama?                                           NEWSLETTER

            May 17, 2021  Volume 34

This week's header photo...

...was taken by new expats Mori and Gary Yeager. This is a sunrise photo taken from their new condo in Coronado. It has been a great pleasure to get to know the Yeager's.

Last Tuesday, our favorite adventure buddies...

...Lyn and Ty invited us to join them on a day sail. What a great time we all had. Once we were clear of the marina at Vista Mar, we dropped the fishing lines and fished the entire day. It was not a great fishing day, but we managed to catch one mackerel. Most of the day we just relaxed on deck. The girls spent an hour or so on the trampoline soaking up the sun. Ty did all the heavy work keeping the sails adjusted and piloting the yacht in expert fashion. This was only the second time out of the marina since the COVID locked up everything over a year ago. Ty was happy for the opportunity to practice his sailing skills, and we were happy to be invited along.

Jen and I...

...decided to change out the last of the black granite. Our half bath was the last to get an update, be it ever so small. We ordered the granite and sink to match with that of our master bath remodel. Last Thursday the guys at Casa Granito came and made the install.  Check out the before and after pictures below.

One of our favorite places...

...to enjoy a nice meal is Nazca 21. They do an excellent Peruvian cuisine right here in Coronado. Before COVID the owner was doing a really fun monthly event with entertainment and a 6-course meal. We had enjoyed that immensely, so when he announced its return, we snatched up 14 tickets and all our besties went for a great time. We enjoyed Causa Limena de Pollo and California Rolls Rellenos de Camarones for the Entrada, Brochetas de Filete de Res and Corvina en Salada de Camarones for the platos fuertes, Cheesecake de Maracuya, and Tiramisu for the postres. The beverage choices were Copa de Vino or Sangria de la Casa.

I thought about translating the menu to English but decided that pictures are worth a thousand words. We were entertained by Latin entertainer Carla Kjaerby for the entire evening. All I can say is that Nazca 21 really knows how to throw a great party.

Coronado Bible Church...

...will continue to have in person Sunday services at 8:30am and 10:30am as we move forward in the new normal. The health protocols will be in place at the church, and everyone is asked to  register in advance for the worship services. The registration link will give times and describe the health protocols and what must be done by attendees who intend to be with us in person. Join us in person, by YouTube, or on Facebook

One thing that regular attendees noticed last week is the addition of an additional person on the stage helping with the music. I was finally persuaded to join Jon and Sue on the stage. I really enjoy being part of the music ministry, and will continue to take part as long as they need or want me.

On Saturday May 15th...

...PanaTimes reported that users who have not agreed WhatsApp's new terms of service would soon start losing functions of the app. Initially users will be able to reply to messages, receive incoming calls, and respond to missed calls however after a few weeks these functions will disappear unless the user accepts the new terms of service. This week's fan photo...

...is Kyle and Ann. They are expats who we have enjoyed getting to know. They could not attend my book signing last week, so they grabbed a copy of my book after church on Sunday. I just happened to have a copy in the car, so we got this unusual picture of them in the parking ramp at the Coronado Bible Church. I was happy to sign their copy of my book and can do the same for you. I have a few copies left that I had shipped to Panama. Including the shipping cost these paperback books will cost $12. Let me know if you are in Panama and would like a copy.

I love getting original fan photos, so if you are willing, and can share a fan photo with me it would be greatly appreciated. It will appear in an upcoming newsletter.

It would also mean a lot to me if those of you who haven't, would go to Amazon or Goodreads and leave a review. This makes my book easier for people to find.

You can get a copy of my book by clicking the link here, or the link on the blog. It is exclusively available on Amazon or Kindle. Kindle Unlimited subscribers read it free.

Blessings from paradise,
